Yes, always. This is one of the main benefits of using nudges versus automatically sweeping via standing orders or direct debits. No money transfers unless you authorise it.
One of the big issues with saving is that it is typical for saving habits to change month-to-month as our finances change. Trying to work out exactly what we can save in advance is often impossible.
However, it is also true that forgetting to save is just as easy, with our increasingly busier lives.
Nudges allow you to specify
- When it would be a good time to think about saving (e.g. just after pay day), and
- What would be a good amount to save (e.g. 75% of what was unspent last month)
They then notify you with a me2me saving link, that allow you to act, edit or ignore this month. If you choose to save it takes seconds with a few taps on your phone. If you want to ignore, no problem, you'll get notified next time.
Plus, if you need to update the nudge conditions, no worries, just edit the nudge.
You are always in control.
